Some interesting and good points.

A few observations on UKIP:

1. A presentable and competent candidate

2. Some local organisation. A full slate of candidates in the 2012 local elections and a reasonable vote for them.

3. The Conservative Party sought to beat UKIP by triangulation with them rather than confronting them.
This only gave credibility to their arguments and helped them.
Andrew Rawnsley yesterday commented on this in yesterday's Observer.

I hope this proves useful.
