Council by-elections

There were two by-elections last night and a delayed poll in Scotland (held back from last week):

Chinnor Ward, South Oxfordshire DC. Con hold. Con 591 (48.3%, -1.4), Ind 449 (36.7%, +1.8), Lab 184 (15%, -0.4). Swing of 1.6% from Con to Ind since 2011.

Kidsgrove Ward, Newcastle-under-Lyme DC. Lab 639 (68.1%, +1.8), Con 121 (12.9%, +0.3), LD 105 (11.2%, -0.9), TUSC 73 (7.8%, -1.2). Swing of 0.8% from Con to Lab since last week!

Dunoon Ward, Argyll & Bute. 1 SNP and 2 Ind cllrs elected (as in 2007).

Also worth noting Newcastle's new borough council leader, Gareth Snell, is probably the youngest in the country ...
