Progress Column

In my Progress column this week I respond to the panic over the poll blip last week:

Quite a good article with only one or two pieces of rubbish in it.

Commentators write about Ed's 'poor leadership' partly because they cannot think of anything to write about. And they have to deliver a column, don't they? They will often do what is easy to write about.

Ted Heath had poorer ratings than Harold Wilson in 1970.

A lot of people blame the last Labour government for the state of the economy. So how would having David Miliband be of any help?
Somebody more identified with the last Labour government than Ed is would be much more of a problem.
