Why I'm lamenting Tribune's demise: http://www.progressonline.org.uk/2011/10/26/tribune-reborn/

"It has consistently championed CND and unilateral nuclear disarmament..."

What a pity the same could not be said about Kinnock and Bevan! John Biffen, a former Conservative Cabinet minister, did more to help the cause back in 1988. And since then Michael Portillo has advocated non-replacement of Trident. Michael Ancram has also expressed deep scepticism.

And, in his memoirs, even Blair came out with some strong arguments for Britain not having nuclear weapons.

P.S.I do hope that Tribune survives.Perhaps it could carry on as a website.

Well done, Luke, for this article (except for the part about nuclear weapons)
