Final by-elections of the year

I was away on holiday in Italy last week so didn't do my usual weekly round-up of council by-elections. Here they are:

Sawbridgeworth Ward, E Herts DC. Ind hold. Ind 441 (45.1%, +9), Con 343 (35.1%, -7.4), Lab 99 (10.1%, +10.1), LD 95 (9.7%, -11.7). Swing of 8.2% from Con to Ind since 2007.

Bromham, Rowde and Potterne Division, Wiltshire UA. Con hold. Con 561 (53.5%, +10.1), LD 358 (34.2%, +15.8), Lab 74 (7.1%, +2.2), Ind 55 (5.2%, +5.2). Swing of 2.9% from Con to LD since 2009.

what's the point of voting from Conservative to LD or Independent?

Labour need a different direction on policies and plans a change of leader and shadow cabinet are not merely enough!

Labour have not stated how they really intend to tackle the deficit people believe they would let it get worse!

There are of course ways like cutting Trident and pulling out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Why do we need hugely expensive missiles when our real threat is from Terrorism, did these stop the 7/7 on the Tubes and Buses?

Labour needs to decide if it wants to hammer the poor or get rid of waste?
