Pipe Vs Pickles

An interesting account of Jules Pipe, the Labour Elected Mayor of Hackney, the authority where I am a councillor, taking on Eric Pickles at the London Councils' Summit:

Interesting? More like extremely biased.

Thanks for sharing this.

I'm of the opinion that for political reasons Labour need to make the position of a Tory cabinet minister untenable, whether by uncovering evidence of malfeasance, exposing incompetence or just amplifying a press backlash such that Cameron decides to ask them to resign.

And for policy reasons, the natural target for that ought to be Pickles, because he's on a crusade to chuck the vulnerable out of the lifeboat. No other minister could do as much damage as Pickles seems rabidly eager to do.
