But surely it was Labour that was guilty of the same philosophy of light-touch regulation that not only made the US economy vulnerable, but ours also. I know Jo Stiglitz argues that, and I imagine Paul Krugman would agree also.
So yes the Tories are rubbish, but so have been Labour.

Hard to pick fault under the current climate Luke. The UK is in a bit of a mess and nothing Brown is doing is having any effect.

If anything lowering the interest rates has had a negative effect at capitalizing the banks. Banks do need people to save in order for them to lend at the moment.

As for unemployment and Browns ideas, they all appear to be hot air. 100,000 jobs.....please give us the details and does he realise that 100,000 jobs have been lost this month.

Luke the fact is Brown has made such a mess there are no solutions....we just have to paddle out.
