Council By-Election Results

Last night's council by-election results:

Newent Central Ward, Forest of Dean DC. Con hold. Con 306 (49.2%, +6.5), Ind 166 (26.7%, -12.5), Lab 96 (15.4%, -1.7), Ind 54 (8.7%, +8.7). Swing of 9.5% from Ind to Con since 2007.

Seven Sisters Ward, LB Haringey. Lab hold. Lab 1032 (37.1%, -9.3), Con 968 (34.8%, +7), LD 581 (20.9%, +8.2), Green 166 (6%, -7.1), Ind 36 (1.3%, +1.3). Swing of 8.2% from Lab to Con since 2006. This was one I helped in on the day - see my reaction in post below.

i would not call it a good result the labour vote was down nearly 10 per cent and the labour party are supposed to be in the middle of a bounce dont make me laugh they are out come next election thats for sure

I agree too. No sign of a Labour bounce just a slow down in their demise. Brown is out and it will become more apparent as this year unfolds.

Too much is going wrong...all of Browns policies have failed. His management of the economy has been a disaster, his rescue plan has failed and he is about to try it again.

In two years when there are 3 million unemployed and those that are working are having to repay these huge loans, Labours fall will be sealed.
