Well Lukey, with all those plastic bags to hand, only one bike between the lot of you and your mates keeping the door open to let all the heat out, you're certainly not members of the bloomin' Green Party, are you?

Neither of the bags on show was plastic - they are both Hackney Council free reusable cloth bags.
You don't really need a bike to get from Beatty Road to the Somerford Grove Estate as it's about 300 metres away.
Communal areas of small blocks are not heated.

whats the point its in an enriched area the result is a forgone conclusion thats why enrichment is allowed by the labour party as the enrichers all vote labour if they did not then the borders would soon be closed

Walking's much more sustainable than biking. Bikes need energy and raw materials in their manufacture; state of the art modern bikes absorb all sorts or rare ingredients.
The real bonkers bikers are the one who strap their bikes to their cars (thus reducing fuel efficiency by about twenty percent), roar off to the countryside to do some cycling and then think they've participated in a green activity.
Trouble is, unlike cycling, no one makes any money out of people walking so there's little commercial funding for lobby groups such as Living Streets.
Sorry - that rant's a bit off topic! Well done for canvassing in December, we seem to have stopped until the New Year...

Actually we had awful weather but went to one of only two estates in the ward with "indoor staircases". Meanwhile a dozen of my colleagues got soaked leafletting the rest of the ward.

Nice to see a "blogger" out and about at the sharp end in inclement weather. - Unlike the keyboard warriors of the extream left, and "nut case" right.
Incidently long research here, and I think the weather is much worse on average, shows that a standard "Tesco" carrier will hold, in comfort, 500 A4 leaflets or equivalent.
What we are going to do if there is a tax on plastic bags I really do not know for my present stock will only cover one bye-election.

I remember your old boss Frank Dobson telling a group of activists (Young Labour and Local Government Conference '95?) that we shouldn't canvass in the rain.
I asked him why not? He said because they'll think you're ****ing mad!

That's why we were canvassing indoor blocks Steve.
Mr Critter - this is a local council by-election so the bags contained leaflets about the A10 one-way system, rather than national security issues. I assume you mean my "sick deranged views" like wanting British soldiers in Afghanistan to have kit that is good enough to keep them alive.

There's now something like 70% of the population in council estates on welfare courtesy of New Labour's "Choice Based Letting".
So I suppose in the spirit of Purnell you'll be giving most of your potential voters a hard time - berating them for the number of kids they have, asking them about recent job applications and threatening them with the withdrawal of welfare.
Of course, you won't. Your position will be straight up their collective arse - you're vote is directly dependent on keeping the underclass addicted.
