London results in detail
London Elects has today published the ward-by-ward detail of the Mayoral election results - a must read for electoral train-spotters/borough or constituency campaign strategists:

Fascinating stuff, though I do wish Hackney didn't have such a high level of postal votes: 28% Lab, 36% Con, 33% Libs. It makes it impossible to see what the exact state of play actually is in each ward.

how do we find out who candidate 1, 2, 3 etc are? easy for the top two but otherwise not obvious!

At first glance it looks as if they are in order of how they appeared on the ballot paper (ie alphabetical by surname).

So apparently I live in only one of three Tory wards in Southwark. I cannot for the life of me fathom where the Tory voters live, I'm sure they came third at the last Council election.

Scroll to the bottom of each spreadsheet for the key to which candidate is which.
Ben, my best guess based on what I know about the Tory vote in Hackney is that of their 5,000 postal votes about 75-80% will have come from the 4 Stamford Hill wards. That bit of the chassidic community that votes LD in Cazenove ward council elections would probably have voted Tory in this election. There would then be smaller clusters in Hoxton, De Beauvoir and Queensbridge.
The Labour and LD postal votes would have a fairly even spread - I've seen the ward-by-ward breakdown of where there are canvassed Labour supporters with postal votes and there is no real pattern to it -it's about the same number in each ward.

My quick and very superficial analysis reckons that the best ward for Ken in the North-East constituency was Hackney Downs (LBH) and the best ward for both Jennette Arnold and Labour overall was Kings Park (also LBH).
The worst were Chingford Green (Ken and Labour) and Endlebury (Jennette). Both LBWF.
