well i have to say that as a Harriet supporter - and one who has spent the capmaign rebutting anti harriet stuff on the blogospehere - we are very happy - particularly as we never resorted to personal attacks on other candidates. Harriet set out a clear campaign and one that echoes Gordon's view that we learn from our mistakes. Now the party will unite behind gordon and harriet. Gordon's view that government of all the talents.

Shneur - just rubbing it in, are you? You're the Salford Tory whose website says: "This Sunday the Labour party (or what’s left of them) will descend on Manchester to try and move on from Blair but more then anything else on the ground for decades to come this with be the most entrenched festering soar [sic!] and most damaging legacy Blair has left us."

You sound like just the sort of person I'd have as a friend. And your spelling is just as bad as mine. Presumably you are Harvey's brother?

i guess what is particularly gratifying is that harriet got the members' votes - whilst the MPs, unions and affiliates are inportant, ultimately, its about us ordinary members who are vital to the party - and to paraphrase: "its the members who won it"

The best part was Hazel Blear's desirory vote, worse than I thought it would be, Cruddas' strong showing (coming first in the first preferences, and eventually coming a strong third.)

The icing on the cake was Hazel's public, televised sacking: not a good day in the office for the Blairites.

I Hope Cruddas is rewarded with a decent job - hopefully to do with housing.

YouGov polls - all polls - are a snapshot at a moment in time and include only those prepared to express a preference at the moment of polling. In this case things were pretty close and there were a lot of floating voters and wannabe stgrategists out there. Spinning. Probably more fickle in the case of yougov than other regimes as you can choose whether to play or not according to the subject matter.

Will you now abandon giving weight to individual polls that you like a lot?
