Big Brother

I am keen to point out that Respect member Carol, who has just entered the Big Brother house, is NOT representative of East London residents.

Are you representative of East London residents?

No, we are a very diverse bunch, but over a 1,000 East London residents thought I represented them enough to re-elect me last May.

After the Galloway pretending to be cat affair you would think Respect would have the common sense to advise their members against doing this kind of thing. Then again common sense and Respect(meaning the Party) are not words I tend to use together.

I am afraid that even I had to switch off BB.

After the entrances of Mary Kate & Ashley and the rest of the 19 year old footballers wives wannabes, I gave up. So I have not seen Carol in action.

Lesley and Tracey need to assert themselves fast.

Carole (with an E) was born and bred here and IS more representative of an East Ender than you could ever hope to be (regardless of which political party she belongs to).

What intrigues me is why you are "keen"?

Observer's friend, you would get on well with Margaret Hodge with your "born and bred here" comment!

One of the great things about East London is that a huge percentage of the population weren't "born and bred" here but it's still our community that we love and call our home. That goes us much for someone from Kent like me as for neighbours from Bangladesh or Nigeria.

I'm disgusted that you think that East London is the property only of those "born and bred" here.

allegedly Galloway will be hosting "Big Brother's Big Mouth" IF that is true, I imagine the respect comrades will be proclaiming that this is all part of the worker's revolution...Even if its not true, the fact that he went in celeb BB in the first place, is enough to dismiss him. One of the women in the house is reported as a Tory, and Carole is a supporter of respect - it does suggest that Respect members and Tories are shallow, attention seeking media junkies who have given up on on real life and live a fantasy "reality tv" existence.

"is the property only of"? I didn't say that, mate! I'm a foreigner and I belong here. I said SHE was more representative of an East Ender than YOU could ever hope to be. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe she secretly earns a telephone number salary (or two), has a penchant for expensive wines and foie gras, yearns for parliamentary power and wants to waste billions on a weapons system to indiscriminately kill innocent women and children with nuclear bombs. What do I know? I know many East Enders of Bangladeshi or Nigerian origin who, like Carole, would equally be more representative than you. But then I've never met anyone in East London with a set of values like yours!

And you still haven't told us why you are "keen".
