Sheesh. That's like poison. The only DL candidate who hasn't got with the trip and dropped the New. Though her brochure and letter have. Talk of Tomorrow's Labour - Tomorrow's Politics - Tomorrow's Party. Which is better than new isn't it?

I hope she poclaims the support of Byers and Milburn far and wide!

I know that it would make Labour Party members soooo much more inclined to vote for her...

Luke-

I'm somewhat to the left of your good self, but not massively.

I hope to be able to vote

1) Cruddas
2) Blears

My reason - by a long shot they are the two candidates who seem to be taking campaigning / electioneering seriously, rather than grandstanding. Sure, they have fairly different views on how the Party should develop its electoral and campaigning strategy, but they both realise that we're nowhere, but nowhere without a highly effective campaign next time round.

Sometimes I think some of the other candidates are making excellent speeches for the early days of oppositon, and that's not what I want to hear.

Would you appreciate the support, and admire the logic, or do you think this is an idiotic position.

So you lambast Cruddas for being endorsed by CLPD (whether he sought their support or not!!).

Yet Blears is being supported by someone who advocated abolishing inheritance tax.

As a Crudddas supporter, I will voting for him to become Deputy Leader and hope that Gordon appoints Hazel Blears as Deputy Prime Minister.

Cllr who? I think there is a lot of logic to your position. Hazel and Jon are the 2 candidates who are clearly coming at the job with a grassroots organisation/campaigning/membership agenda.

Caroline why not vote for Hazel to be DL and urge Brown to make Jon party chair?

Why not urge Gordon to have an elected Party Chair whether Jon wins the DL election or not. Why can't we elect at least 1 position on a regular basis in Govt. At least Gordon will be able to take the pulse of the membership
